Ask HN: How to build robust search for users on top of their own encrypted data?

What storage architecture stack and approaches would you recommend to be enable encryption in transit and at rest for users but still allow them to search their own content (large collections of text blobs, json, markdown, etc)? All database options are on the table, including storing static files.
