Canadian Rogers caves on iPhone 3G plans, offers 6GB for $30 a month

This is good news but still need to sign a 3 years contract to get that package. I have a first gen phone so not sure what I'll do :/

Yeah, the other thing is that this is only a promotional offer good until August. The problem of the lack of competition in Canada and carriers being able to do whatever they want is unaddressed.

Yes, if only the CRTC tried to do something.

Hopefully the turnout of the wireless spectrum auction (http://agora.ic.gc.ca/AuctionGCLF_BTS/bidderResults.cfm) will be beneficial.

I am in the same situation.

And 3 years? To the their crappy prices? I'll stick to wifi for now...

Woo, something semi-usable. Boo, 3 year contract terms. (seriously, this only happens in canada with the 3 years contract terms. I almost want to have some regulation to limit it to 6 months, but regulation is what got us in this mess in the first place)

Competition trumps regulation for keeping suppliers honest.

The iPhone packages are still crap, and they haven't changed at all. This is a BS ploy, plain and simple. Ugh... Back to the stone age for us...
