There's no colour vision. They just make it up as they go along. It's just a huge conspiracy / April fools' joke.

Could you maybe get some kind of approximation of color by holding up different colored filters in front of your eyes to filter out all but that color? It works for space probes :)
Oh I'll gladly trade color vision for this. Rainbows are overrated.
Those are two genes that I'd love to have too, but in the reverse order.
Well, the only reason they're in this order is that the color vision thing will actually be going into clinical trials in the next couple of years.
