The professors bound for the 2020 Macbook (actually the one's already in the iPhones - the Macbook one's would be an even later model) are already faster than the 2013 Macbook Pro.

Plus all the other niceties, like USB-3, modern bluetooth, better integrated graphics, a faster and bigger SSD, more RAM, and so on.

Oh, and the ability to run future-proof on the ARM version of Big Sur (and run iOS apps, and other things).

It's not even comparable...
