Ask HN: Do you regularly play games on web browsers?

I know people regularly play games on desktop and mobile, but what keeps the browser based games market from taking off?

The SPA standard could potentially lead to a new market for web based game products on mobile, which would be great. But while the market for browser games on desktop machines has always existed, it never really grew beyond the Flash plugin bubble of the mid 00s, despite proving to be an effective distribution channel.

So I wondered if any of you are either playing, developing or publishing games for web browsers, and what your experiences are?
