Sigh. Yes. It's April 1st. Don't believe everything you read.
Let me see if I understand April Fool's day.
You carefully develop a high-standing in a community of some description (even if it's just your family) as someone of integrity, and whose judgement can be trusted. Then, one day a year, you punish people for believing you.
Hmm. Not sure I get it.
In particular, there's a company I know (who shall remain nameless) that I worked with in a professional capacity for many years. We had a great working relationship. I delegated to them, they delegated to me, and work got done easily.
One day they played a perfectly innocent, very small practical joke. No harm, no foul, no problem.
Except, somehow, the deep and implicit trust was broken. I never did trust them totally after that, and lost that great feeling you get when totally in flow.
I know, people will say "Lighten up! It's a joke!"
Well, yes. Doesn't mean there are no long lasting effects.
