Ask HN: Unusual activity alert for GMail by email?

I use GMail as my primary email. But because I use it with Thunderbird (IMAP) I am forced to check the activity log in GMail by the web interface every few days to ensure no unusual activity.

Is there a way to setup an unusual activity email notice to a secondary email address to avoid polling for the information via the web interface every so often?
