Dutch protesters demand end to fur farming after coronavirus outbreak

For what it’s worth, these type of anti-fur or anti-animal-farming protests happen quite a lot over here, albeit in slightly less numbers. I suspect the fact that the past few months with the lockdown and everything has frustrated people, which increases their willingness to protest.

All in all, I don’t expect any revolutions in the area of fur farming in The Netherlands any time soon, nor has the public opinion about this drastically changed.

I am from the Netherlands and have seen this news on other small dutch news channels but I do not understand why this is on "HackerNews". @blue_devil could you elaborate why you posted this?

Yes the fact that mink can get the virus and that they can transmit it to humans is news worthy but even on the dutch national television this news was only mentioned very shortly.
