Am i right in thinking that the study shows that those who took action were happier, but not that they were actually better off? Does it attempt to account for a bias towards rationalising your actions?
In reality, the alternative to taking action is usually not simply taking no action, it is collecting more information and then deciding whether to take action. Does the study get at this at all?
