A new normal has just been defined. Amazing to see.

"Thank you for flying with Falcon 9 today", as though it's an airplane.

So many cheeky touches! It's such a different vibe than the NASA launches of old. It's old news but I still was caught off guard by announcers flatly referring to "Of Course I Still Love You"

EDIT this is not a criticism, I really like it. Maybe "cheeky" is the wrong term, I'm bad with Anglicisms

The name felt like a nod to Iain Banks' Culture series, whose AI-piloted spaceships had pretty funny names.

It explicitly is.

Ironic since the Culture is anti-capitalist. xD

So is spacex. It's a dictatorship.

All the people forced to buy contracts with them. All the people forced to work with them. Pure. Tyranny.

No, just internally, where king elon makes decrees from high and you follow or are exiled from the nation of spacex.

It's a private corporation: it's a mini-dictatorship. Basically everything functional in the world is built by one. Could you imagine the department of transportation making a car?

"By the way, I am actually a socialist."

Ok, he can use Culture names without irony. uwu

I wouldn't take him at his word. Musk says a lot of shit in his tweets.

It is. The other one is Just Read The Instructions.

Wouldn't it be "Thank you for flying with Spacex today"?

You'd think so, but that's what they said to the astronauts on the stream today.
