Ask HN: Hosting my startup on Individual Droplets

3 pointsHelvInski2 comments

Hi,

I am starting a company where users can self-host my application or use a cloud-hosted SaaS version. For the cloud-hosted version, I am considering hosting each application on an individual DigitalOcean Droplet and completely isolating the database/app/redis, etc.

Has anyone ever done or seen this before?

yeah, I haven't used redis before, but hosted db, backend & frontend on individual servers. Using individual servers makes maintaining the servers easier and also adds up to additional performance

also, if you are using digitalocean, leverage private networking for faster inter-sever communication
