Does anyone know if this also affects MacBook Pro 13” with only two Thunderbolt ports on the left (the ones without Touch ID)? Are these ports the same as the laptops with three ports? If yes, does this mean we (MBP13” users) have no solution?

The MBP with only 2 TB3 ports run lower wattage processors (15w instead of 28) which may have an effect in this situation.

I've been having this issue with my work MBP, same model you describe. I don't think we have any easy solutions. Maybe a laptop stand can help?
