And I'm one of them, but I'm not optimistic that human challenge trials will actually end up getting approved. Medical ethics is a deeply, deeply inflexible field even in the face of doom.

It would be illegal to do this with monkeys but ferrets have the same ACE2 protein we do and would be good candidates for this sort of research.

Hmm...I swear I've read a paper talking about monkeys infected, having mild symptoms and then recovering. Perhaps it was a SARS-1 paper.

I remember reading some study about monkeys reliably developing antibodies to it.
