Isn't npm like a dumping spot for pretty much anything javascript good, bad and ugly?
Pretty much all of the code was already on github
npm is just a low friction package registry.
The acquisition doesn't mean all existing NPM packages are suddenly going to get dumped into GitHub repos, though. The services still do two different things.
