I was one of the 12 people who wrote a lot of Apple Pascal in the early 80s. One a day I got a call from a tech writer who was reviewing Turbo Pascal for Byte or some other programming mag. He had heard through the grapevine that I did Pascal and brought over an Osborne luggable and a copy of Turbo pascal for CPM. I fell in love instantly. Although I was a die-hard Apple guy at the time, the PC version of TP eventually turned me into a PC programmer overnight.
One other thing, it was so cheap and fast that people started using it as their text editor of choice. It would be interesting to know how many copies of TP were sold that never compiled a line of code.
