Ask HN: Favorite CS Research Papers?

I’d like to start reading 1 new CS research paper a week. Figured covid-19 lockdown is a good time to start. Topics can be on any topic, but curious what people’s favorite foundational or newer inspirational papers are? Or even what google alerts you have setup for papers that might come out from favorite authors.

Personally very interested in new languages, software architecture, compilers, software security.

Thanks!
