Covid-19: Ventilator Designs (and other issues)

A group of manufacturers I an associated with is interested in considering making ventilators.

Are there published designs or detailed theory of operations documents one could use as the basis for this?

The other massive issue, at least in the US, is release from liability. Sadly, in this country, you can’t even make something as simple as a mask without being exposed to company-ending lawsuits. Have they issued any legislation to shield contributing companies from liability?

FDA approval. Have they created a fast-track process for contributing companies?

As always, there’s a large difference between the theory and practice of making something for the real world.
