Ask HN: Why would a coder buy a glossy screen laptop?

I spend many hours in front of my laptop, as most of you, and I struggle to see how can someone in my condition not choose a matte screen? Do you rely on monitors? On dark rooms? This might help me decide the next laptop I'll buy (so far, I'll stick to XPS 13).
