Yes, it's like "it didn't work this one time, let's just scrap that idea entirely"

I wish they would apply that logic to whenever they implement more surveillance measures.

Buried underneath this discussion is a lesson in incentives.

Also, there is no evidence that it didnt work.

The goal is to slow infection, not prevent it. We could hypothetically have a much greater infection rate than we do today.
