Ask HN: How do you take text notes?

Hi HN,

In the spirit of a recent submission about productivity using a text file (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22276184) I'm looking to start taking technical and personal notes in markdown format.

So, how do you guys organise your notes? I'd appreciate any insight into your process, especially if you've been at it for a while. How do you mark sections, code, personal notes? How does all of this integrate into your workflow and daily life?

Thanks in advance! ~nsomaru
