Israeli soldiers duped by Hamas 'fake women' phone ruse

"General blames enemy for soldiers falling for oldest scam on the internet." They don't show any evidence that Hama's is behind it, and even if they are it is just as likely their just normal scammers who caught some soldiers. Even if their version is completely true, it's not like the Israeli army has any issues with similar tactics.

Why announce this happened at all?

In the Bible a similar incident happens, I wonder how many times people make the same errors over and over again.

Only difference is that the spies in the Bible version were real women.

Also end result of that incident was awful (lots of dead on both sides)

I'm guessing this only affected Android devices? But did those devices have the "Allow apps from unknown sources" option checked?

I feel like there's some pretty pertinent technical details missing from the story.

(Or am I missing something?)

Mandatory conscription at age 18.

I wonder if the soldiers were all very new?
