That doesn't even pay for a single developer if factoring in taxes and other costs of employment.
In California... In other countries, or many other states in the US, that would be enough. Doesn't mean that people shouldn't contribute, it's a great project!
Well maybe this is a good opportunity for those googlers who were writing here about being satisfied with their income but were bored with their job and looking for more meaningful work to contribute to.
I think there's only two full time developers on the project, and both are based in Brazil, so this actually goes a really long way.
Akien (project manager) isn't based in Brazil, he's French. And Juan (project manager) lives in Argentina (according to his GitHub).
George however, who has been employed only recently does live in Brazil (according to his GitHub).
They are already paying two full time developers from the Patreon money. There are actually software developers out there (the vast majority of them actually, the US is not the whole world) who do not make 6 figure salaries.
There is a whole world out there, not only SV :)
The developers live in Argentina I believe and it pays for 2 of them. There's a world outside SV...
Don't forget cost of living and lack of other benefits.
International dollars are more valuable than San Francisco dollars.
