To me the saddest thing isn't that people sell out. It's how cheap they sell out for. $120k-180k/yr seems to be the going rate.
Who are you to even be worried about selling out? When was the last time you had to substitute grocery selections because you couldn't afford some items? Or only put the gas you expected to need to use in the tank this week? Or put off a vet/doctor appointment until you could make the bill? Or like I did a long time ago, cycled around friend's couches until I could even afford rent again?
Yeesh. I'dve done all kinds of things if I got paid that much, until I could afford anything different.
