To me its fascinating the growth of state's pop. TX is sucking up people so fast. NY has hardly changed in 70 years.

According to your Numbers from 1950 to 2020, Texas only went up 3.625x.

CA went up 3.71x and Florida did 7.77x.

You're right, just the last 10-30 years CA pop growth has stopped while TX has continued at 20%/decade.

Texas has built housing. NY essentially hasn't.

That's not true. NY more than NYC. NYC has been building housing and the rest of the state has plenty.

scale nyc housing construction to a per capita level and it's actually pretty paltry
