Maybe some 15 years ago I had a job interview. It went well and I was asked to meet the co-founders at a downtown bar. Being dressed rather casually I asked if it was appropriate attire for the bar. I was told "Actually, one of the reasons I want to hire you is because you look like what I would expect a computer geek to look like." (I'm paraphrasing, it was a long time...)
