He's not wrong. What happens if the US gets mired in 3rd war?How are we going to pay for it?

That’s absurd. US is almost 30% of the world GDP and growing as a proportion. It is Iran that can’t afford war.

Iranian military power is weakest its been and getting weaker, it is no match in any sense for US military power. The US is not going to occupy Iran but it can put them into the dark ages in matters of hours and probably eliminate most of their military.

Let's bomb China, next! All that fentanyl they are shipping over here kills 11,000 per year. Surely they deserve it, too.

Well the equivalent would be the Chinese drug lord boss found in Manilla while moving a large shipment and then taken out by a CIA drone.

That sounds very reasonable and I can’t imagine what you are opposed to, what exactly is the problem with either what happened or the scenario in Manilla?

There is no such thing as invasion defensive war that can't be afforded. You do it or you die. A rag tag bunch of colonies defeated the most powerful empire in the world, twice. This isn't a video game. The oceans don't protect us like they did in ww2 and ww1.

The US is not thinking about invading Iran. There is absolutely 0% domestic political support which even if somehow Iran foolishly tries to use 911 type terrorism as a retaliation is not going to generate political support for another pointless occupation.

I hope that's right. I also hope Trump isn't up to something worse than occupation.
