Ask HN: AWS vs. Azure for Enterprise B2B SaaS Platform
1. Does it make sense to consider both above-mentioned cloud deployment options (i.e., a multi-cloud approach), assuming that some enterprises might have relevant preferences (e.g., due to already using specific provider and having relevant billing workflows established and approved)? If not, why?
2. If you would advise against an AWS/Azure multi-cloud solution (based on #1 above not making sense), would you prefer the Azure option solely because of their technical, business and sales enablement advertised as part the "Microsoft for Startups" program (which looks much stronger to me than AWS' "co-marketing opportunities", especially considering Microsoft's enterprise focus and power)? A smaller additional benefit for me would be the fact that, unlike AWS, Microsoft offers their cloud credits without a need to be affiliated with AWS Activate Providers. I would be especially interested in hearing from folks who have actually participated in the Microsoft for Startups (or previous Spark) program on whether it really is as valuable as being advertised (in terms of enterprise marketing and sales support).
Thank you very much in advance and happy holidays!
