Ask HN: What are your thoughts on regulation and startups

Startups tend to be leading; while, regulation tends to be lagging. Sometimes regulation is a good thing (e.g. Theranos). But what are your thoughts on outdated regulation that hasn't taken into the account for the internet age (e.g. Uber/ Airbnb)?

Should startups push the boundary on regulation or do you think its just plain wrong?
