I love your idea, because human-based matchmaking has a good chance of equalizing the distribution instead of giving more attractive people massively more matches. There could even be some kind of incentive for matchmakers to create as many pairs as possible.
That would go well in india ><
That's a good idea but how would it work in practice? Would there be a two pass matching system? For example, let's say the friendly folks of this app match me with someone, what do I see? Do I now see a match, and my match sees me, and we can message? Or would I see my match and have the choice of declining?
It's interesting, but it's a different model to the XAND model currently used by dating app matching.
This is actually a pretty good idea. I think women would really go for it, since most of the 'matchmakers' are probably other women
lmao, so I just ran this idea by my girlfriend and she said "yeah its good but there would be trolls, I would just put hideous women with hot guys, and vice versa" - so, not so easy to succeed at (also, what a catch my girl is :P)
Make it based on reputation for the matchmakers as well. So if you purposefully do bad matches, you'll eventually not be able to do any more matchmaking.
I had this idea though my variant was that all the info goes to like knitting circles of nice old grandmas and they do the matching.
I think image analysis would work. I've noticed that couples tend to have similar facial features and expressions.
Are you sure? Are there any studies on this? Is there a good "actual couples" dataset?
Even if this does end in inevitable train wrecks, this concept would make an incredible TV show pitch.
This sounds engaging and fun. Think you're onto something.
