Can you honestly expect a project to be taken seriously when it's named after a dumb meme that everyone associates with dumb armchair investors who make terrible decisions?
As a counterpoint: it's funny/playful, it speaks to their niche, and it speaks to the utility/functionality of their product.

For better or for worse, we named the project after the HODL meme as an ode to the early investors of cryptocurrency.
Out of curiosity, we mined every mention of the comment HODL on Reddit from 2017-2018 and looked at how the average # mentions of HODL were affected by price volatility.
