Ask HN: How to improve SEO for user-centric site?
I thought this would be a good time to ask this question given this recent post on the front page:

I'm developing a website that is user-centric. What I mean by that is it provides straight-forward content with the bare-minimum information the user needs rather than the traditional SEO-centric sites we've all grown to hate that bury a simple answer in a 10 paragraph post just to milk that SEO udder.
How do you improve the SEO for such a data-heavy site with little-to-no surrounding context or massive walls of text?
