Hopefully anything linked to gender is looked into for example car insurance? Men typically signifigantly more than women for car insurance.

Charging different rates on car insurance based on gender is illegal in some places, including California.

But there is still a discrepancy between genders in CA.

Car insurers can point at actuarial data to back up their rating decisions.

Are you saying that there are insurers who don't base their rating decisions on actuarial data? Isn't that a requirement?
