It’s weird you can say « haha, i’m so happy i shot you in the head ». But you can’t say « you’re such a lame dumbass » ?
That's pretty slippery.
Why not go full Toon-Town 'SpeedChat' , parse all the voice to text, equivocate the naughty phrase that was actually uttered to an acceptable alternative, and give the player a TTS voice that says something roughly equivalent publicly.
"Eat shit, dickhead" -> "Boy, I sure am frustrated!" "I wrecked you, you're terrible." -> "Good game, everyone!"
these censorship lengths absurd. at what point in all this cat-and-mouse game is it going to be obviously harmful towards human expression?
or, in other words, if The Machine dictates what of which was said is heard by the flock everywhere , at what point do we lose our voices?
Can we at least have an adults section before the wole of the internet becomes a kiddie pool? I find yelling at the opponent part of the fun, as do many players. Sure, segregate us, but please don't ruin our fun we paid for. We tend to only play with others like us anyway, no need to butt in.
