Is 5G that dangerous to humans and to the environment?

I had an EM professor that did consulting for the government a long time ago (in the 90s IIRC) when there was a scare around the safety of cellphones. The fear around cell technology is misplaced especially compared to far greater daily risks like driving, etc.

Not even going to read the article, but the title itself is already fearmongering, implying that it's dangerous but we don't know just how dangerous. As usual, the answer to any headline with a question is "No".

This is a layman's understanding, corrections / contexts are welcome -> If radiation is non-ionizing, it doesn't hurt you to be exposed to it, even in high amounts.

X-Rays etc. are dangerous in high amounts because they ionize some of the chemical bonds in your cells, somewhat analagous to ripping apart your body on a molecular level.

Radio waves (including 5G!) do not ionize, which is is to say, they don't mess with any chemical bonds and thus are 'invisible' to your body in just about every way.

When it comes to checking whenever things are dangerous for humans, it will take years until we will have an answer.

Probably we will reach 8G till then
