I'm on an issue for WSL 1 where there's a nasty bug when dealing with a lot of files. The only way you can free up the file system is to restart. https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/issues/2882
WSL 2 alleviates this file issue. There are some issues where daemons like postgres, mongo, etc. aren't started by default and sysctl.conf isn't respected. A manual command has to be ran.
Windows 10 is fast. It has amazing support for high resolution displays and multi-monitor that a light year ahead of anything Linux has unfortunately.
WSL also gives choice of distro. You get to use the stable packages instead of being stuck with a brew package that's broken.
WSL is cute but it is a toy. Microsoft doesn't value your work. Stick with a real linux distro. My linux boxes all have uptimes of hundreds of days, since our last full day power outage.
Props to the WSL team. They made such a nice toy.
I resented them for causing me to lose my work, but deep down I knew the fault was mine for not having proper backups.
With WSL 2, it is now GNU / Linux / Windows.
