Ask HN: Apple Streaming Subscription

I find a lot to watch on Apple TV that requires about $4 to rent that cannot be found on any other streaming service. I would easily pay money to subscribe to get a certain amount of monthly rentals. This would be similar to Netflix's DVD model where you can rent a certain number of DVDs each month. Anyone else have input on this? Why wouldn't apple go for this? Could they combine this with their original content they are planning on releasing as part of Apple TV+?
