Oof. Naturally the idea of distributing scanned copies of the book for educational and professional purposes comes to my mind and the article really gives me the feeling that mankind would greatly benefit from it. But you just can't ignore the sinister origin. The photo of the author and his illustrators lets me shiver. This is a textbook example of a dilemma.
If only we had thousands of bodies donated to educational institutions for decades with the capability to reproduce these works in better fidelity with modern technology. Oh well, I guess we will just rely on this Nazi book instead.
To do away with any good done, just because evil was done, is sad and shortsighted. I am glad people can move forward without dragging around the past like a corpse. Annoyingly, much of our best tech of a certain era was developed by Nazis, but I sure as hell am not about to unlearn rocket science as a consequence.
