PTU – Pressure, Temperature, Humidity

Radio sondes measusing Pressure, Temperature and Humidity up in the atmosphere are called PTU-sondes. But the acronym doesn't work. Also Humidity doesn't have a silent H as far as I can tell. Does anyone know the history for calling this a PTU sonde and not a PTH sonde?
