Ask HN: Editing and Email Accssibility for Stroke Victim

A good friend, a professional writer, recently had a stroke. He has some limited mobility of his left hand but little if any mobility on the right. He can speak with reasonable clarity although his voice is weak. His mind is clear, bedridden in a recovery center, and bored. Recovery from a stroke is slow.

I would like to get him a computer system that would allow him to read, write, and edit documents and allow him to send and receive emails.
