Basically all women are photo-shopping their pics. Any man posting a shirtless pic that isn't an unflattering pic from a fishing trip is photo-shopping their pics. This holds for very loose definitions of "all". It's an arms race. Eventually I think it will be expected that people photoshop their pics.
What? Not a chance, unless you consider an instagram filter "photoshopping", and even then, no. Certainly not "all".
Kinda like a system that can rule out all the wrong answers can figure out the right answer with enough horsepower?
I wonder how much all this AI will affect societal trust. If we're all just expecting that we're constantly lying to each other to get things, might we further devolve into a very low-trust society?
Similarly, I wonder if our increasingly low-trust, hyperconnected society will cause us to adapt (evolutionarily) in new and interesting ways. Obviously, all of this happens way faster than we evolve, and we'll need better tooling or cultural norms to deal with this stuff.
My idea was to have a hybrid between an old school matchmaking service and online dating.
This is what I was thinking:
- Every major region has an office where new users can go, have their photos taken by a professional photographer, and have their stats verified. These are the only photos allowed. The photographers should try to make people look as good as reasonably possible without deceiving angles or photoshop. There would of course be some fee to doing this, which would hopefully deter bots and scam artists. This location could also be a hangout where singles can meet each other.
- People are interviewed, and the interviewer writes a short paragraph that describes the person to other users. This keeps users from giving away too much information on their profile or making lists of demands.
- Users can only be seen as long as they are active. If they're inactive/offline, it's as if they don't exist. That way people don't waste their time sifting through profiles that either have been long since dead or are being used by people casually.
- If a user hasn't initiated any contacts within a time frame, maybe a month or two, the user is considered "not serious" and they'll have to pay a small fee to continue.
- There would be no personality tests or algorithms based on looks. (if I remember correctly, paying for OkCupid could expose you to "more attractive" people)
:-D
This is how I avoid scrutiny of all my carnal desires
I’ve been doing okay acknowledging that there are sexually desirable traits without pretending its a libido-less empowerment experiment.
