This is BAD. Restricting trade has its own issues... But this is the flow of information. Shame M$ doesn't have a spine.

This is being enforced because of Trump Iran trade policies. I doubt Github/MS would do this unless they had to
the backside of the Microsoft acquisition.
If Github was its own company as before it wouldnt have banned so fast, atleast the gov would have to put more pressure on it.
This is really bad, we need an alternative to Github. (Not gitlab)

We have plenty of github alternatives and gitlab is among my favorite. What exactly excludes gitlab from your list of alternatives?
