Reversing statically linked ELF 32-bit file

I am having this problem while trying reversing a 32 bit elf binary the code is heavily obfuscated in addition the string I am looking for is in DWORD, what would be the best way to tackle this? Have tried searching for info all over the web and could only find some blurbs which sent me to a rabbit whole. Help would be massively appreciated.
