It seems that Whitney has continued working on kOS, but nothing major has been released or announced:

the new project. Arthur has a tendency to turn mid stream sometimes. I'm sure much of that code was used in this new DB he's working on (db's and os's are quite similar).

I thought this refers to a RISC-V processor (https://shakti.org.in/), which would've been quite a turn indeed.

I heard from an earlier posting of this link that he got overwhelmed by driver support. I forget if he dropped it entirely.
