> Huawei is closely associated with the Chinese government.

... and Google, Cisco, ... are closely associated with the American government ...

> The Chinese government threatens democracies and good people everywhere with its concentration camps.

As an European: Well, so does the United States. Turns out that being assholes to each others seems to be a human trait.

This false equivalence between China and the US and their modern human rights record is absurd.

The US has concentration camps? Do tell.

Did you know about these?

Not only does this appear to be whataboutism, it doesn't even make sense. By modern standards the past activities of pretty much any nation are unacceptable.

Very recently actually: https://www.npr.org/2018/06/19/621065383/what-we-know-family...

Pretty sure there's a big difference between being detained for an act and being detained for just existing.

The act of having their nations destabilized by the US?

I reject your premise?

We're talking about the existence of concentration camps, not the reasons for concentrating.

Immigrant detainment facilities are getting real close to the definition.

Not anywhere on the same scale though.

Putting people in re-education camps because of their ethnicity or religion isn’t the same as detaining illegal aliens. The US isn’t putting people in camps because of ethnicity or religion. Illegal aliens are in “camps” because they entered the US illegally. Drawing an equivalence between concentration camps (of the Nazi variety) and US immigration enforcement is ridiculous. If that difference can’t be discerned, then any intelligent debate is impossible. The immigration policy of the US is worthy of debate, but comparing the US to China or Nazi Germany is just nonsense.
