Any clue what the holdup is for production of new Silicon Valley episodes? I just read they're not starting production of the new season until summer 2019, and it's already been a year since the last season ended.

I read months ago that one of the producers was busy with a new series, but I don't have a link at hand.

Edit: I think it was this https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2018/11/silicon-valley-...

What do people in Silicon valley actually think about the TV Series? I don't know anyone in the US startup scene to get first hand info but how close are the ridiculous things that happen in that TV show to reality?

TJ Miller had a comment that they didn't like laughing at themselves (or something to that effect). I cannot find the time index because I'm at work:

I thought it was pretty good-- a welcome change from completely unbearable 'let's point and laugh at the nerds' shows like BBT. The archetypes in the Silicon Valley series are hyperreal-- but I swear I've worked with (or hired or fired) every character in the show at one point or another.

And the tech aspect isn't cringeworthy. They did some homework. I've only seen seasons 1&2, but I approve.
