Ask HN: What does your ideal remote-team collaboration tool look like?

The more I work remotely, the more I find collaboration tools for remote teams lacking.

Slack has no memory. Confluence is only good for documentation. Google Docs idea of collaboration is spooky cursors hopping around.

What would your ideal tool for working in a remote team look like? What features would it have? Would it use a document metaphor, a chat metaphor, something else, or all of the above?
