Hailing back to microeconomics 101, won't this cause a sharp decrease in supply, causing an increase in price and higher wages for those who find it economically-sensible to continue providing service in these cities until S&D equilibrium is met again?

Most drivers drive for Lyft too so they'll keep driving. It's like if Home Depot workers go on strike lumber prices don't go up because the demand is absorbed by Lowes.

Great point. I guess my line of thinking was scoped to Uber alone.

But the Uber app is literally a beacon that singles out Uber drivers. It's like being a regular scab but with a GPS tracker that picketers can use to track you down.

I wouldn't want to cross that picket line.

I'd guess those who prefer short term gain over medium term loss, but I agree with your, passive aggressive?, point of using the term "rats" to label anybody.
