the ads aren't directly in the product, but that data ends up trying to provide you with "relevant" ads, just like the Android phone itself.
Are people honestly not creeped out when you get ads from other people's phones?
It's worth noting that earlier in the Google Next keynote, they had a slide on Privacy and that they will not access your data in GCP unless you request that they do so.
