Ask HN: What do you use IFTTT for?

"Lifestream" logging mostly - starring something in Feedbin, marking something read in Pocket, Netatmo notifications for temperature and camera, weight from Withings, etc. - all go to various files in Dropbox or sheets in Google Docs.

"Best" thing I use it for at the moment is to mark something read in Feedbin if I archive the article in Pocket (after "promoting" it from my Feedbin unread list to Pocket via a Shortcut/Workflow.)

For nothing. I have made 3 serious attempts but never found any use case for IFTTT.

The best was archiving songs from NYT Jazz Events to playlist in Spotify. But IFTTT changed API. Also archiving Discovery Weekly.

All the other recipes seemed like fun for a day or two but later had become a nuisance.

When the "Ask HN Freelancer Seeking freelancer" pops up in the RSS feed of this website, IFTTT sends me an email.
