I have a question though. Have you ever had a bad trip on psychedelics? The closest analogy to that seems to be an episode of psychosis. The enthusiasm for psychedelics seems to drop significantly for anyone who has had one of those. Sam Harris wrote about his experience with it in Waking Up. He had numerous good experience with it, a good setting and state of mind but yet he still had a bad trip and it has stuck with him ever since, like “a door left ajar” in his words.
